Tezpur University is looking for suitable persons for the following positions under the Centre for Endangered Languages (CFEL) on contract basis as per the following details. These posts are purely temporary under a scheme of the University Grants Commission entitled Establishment of Centres for Endangered Languages in Central Universities and the appointment will be valid up to 31.03.2020 or till the scheme continues, whichever is earlier.

1. Research Associate
No of posts: 2

Pay: Rs. 30,000/- PM; Fixed
Educational Qualification:

1) M.A. in Linguistics/ Anthropology/ English with 'Linguistics' specialization.
2) Ph.D. in Linguistics.
3) Ph.D. ill any of the following areas of specialization:
a) Maintenance and Revitalization of Endangered Languages, b) Field Linguistics, c) Sociolinguistics, d) Lexicography, e) Functional Linguistics
Desirable: Having worked on indigenous languages of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. Native speakers of indigenous languages of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland will be preferred.

2. Field Assistant
No of posts: 3

Pay: Rs. 18,000/- PM; Fixed
Educational Qualification: M.A. in Linguistics 1 Anthropology 1 English with 'Linguistics' specialization.
Desirable: Having worked on indigenous languages of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. Native speakers of indigenous languages of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland will be preferred.

Age: Not exceeding 35 years on the date of interview.
