CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test Tentatively on Sunday 17th December, 2017 for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology. A candidate may apply either for ‘JRF-Lectureship’ OR ‘JRF’ only OR ‘Lectureship (LS)’ only.
The Test will be held in the following subject areas :
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
Educational Qualification : M. Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ BS-4 years/ BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with disability (PwD) candidates.
Age : 28 years as on 01/07/2017 for JRF and no age limit for LS (NET). A relaxation up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PWD categories and to women applicants.
Examination Centres: The test will be held at 27 Centres spread all over India, as specified below:Bangalore, Bhavnagar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jorhat, Karaikudi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pilani, Pune, Raipur, Roorkee, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur and Varanasi.
Application fee : ₹1000/- (₹500/- for OBC candidates and ₹250/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) to be paid in Indian Bank through payment challan or by RTGS/NEFT.
